Anna Kournikova

Anna Kournikova

Country : Russia
Residence : Miami, Florida,
United States
Date of birth: June 7, 1981(age 25)
Place of birth : Moscow, Russia
Height :1.73 m (5 ft 8 in)
Weight :56 kg (123 lb)
Turned Pro : October 1995
Retired 2003
Plays : Right-handed
(two-handed backhand)
Career Prize Money : $3,584,662

Anna Sergeyevna Kournikova (Anna Sergeeyevna Kurnikova; born June 7, 1981) is a retired Russian professional tennis player and model. Although she never won a major singles tournament, she became one of the best known tennis players worldwide. At the peak of her fame, fans looking for images of Kournikova made her name (or misspellings of it) one of the most common search strings on Google. Kournikova's major-league tennis career has been curtailed for the past several years, and possibly ended, by serious back and spinal problems. She has had some success at the singles game, but her specialty has been doubles, where she has at times been the world's No.1 doubles player. With Martina Hingis as her partner, she won Grand Slam titles in Australia in 1999 and 2002. Kournikova's playing style fits the profile for a doubles player, and is complemented by her height. She has been compared to such players as Pam Shriver and Peter Fleming. Based on their looks, Hingis and Kournikova facetiously referred to themselves as the "Spice Girls of Tennis".

Tennis career :

Kournikova was a member of the Russian delegation to the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1997, as a 16-year-old, she reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon, where she lost to the eventual champion, Martina Hingis by a score of 6-3, 6-2. 1998 was her breakthrough year, when she broke into the WTA's top 20 rankings for the first time and scored impressive victories over Martina Hingis, Lindsay Davenport, and Steffi Graf. Kournikova's two Grand Slam doubles titles came in 1999 and 2002, both at the Australian Open in the Women's Doubles event with partner Martina Hingis, with whom she played frequently starting in 1999.

Kournikova proved a successful doubles player on the professional circuit, winning 16 tournament doubles titles, including two Australian Opens and being a finalist in mixed doubles at the U.S. Open and at Wimbledon, and reaching the No.1 ranking in doubles in the Women's Tennis Association tour rankings. Her pro career doubles record was 200-71. However, her singles career plateaued after 1999. For the most part, she managed to retain her ranking between 10 and 15 (her career high singles ranking was No.8), but her expected finals breakthrough failed to occur; she only reached four finals out of 130 singles tournaments, never in a Grand Slam event, and never won one. As a player, Kournikova was noted for her footspeed and aggressive baseline play and excellent angles and dropshots; however, her flat, high-risk groundstrokes tended to produce high numbers of errors and her serve was sometimes unreliable in singles. Her singles record is 209-129.

Website : www.tatayoung.com

Tata Young (born Amita Marie Young, December 14, 1980 in Thailand) is a Thai American singer, model and actress. A Thai superstar at age 15, she became an international success with the release of her first English-language album I Believe in 2004. She remains one of the most popular performers in Thailand, and is a perennial "favorite" pick by magazines and music-video channels.

Asian Star :

Tata continued to cultivate the mature image she had embarked upon since leaving GMM Grammy and her teen years behind her. She released her English-language debut album, I Believe on Columbia Records. The album was launched on February 14 in Singapore. More than 100 members of the international press attended her press conference.

The first single taken from the album was "Sexy, Naughty, Bitchy", which stirred more controversy at home in Thailand. In Malaysia, she had to change the name of the tune to "Sexy, Naughty, Cheeky". Further single releases from the album included 'I Believe' and 'Cinderella'

Nonetheless, Tata was voted as one of the "50 sexiest women in the world" by Malaysian publications. In Singapore, she performed and was chosen to join the judging panel at the Miss Singapore Universe 2004 pageant.

Her second English-language album, Temperature Rising was released in August 2006, with first single, "El Nin-YO!". The album includes songs composed by Diane Warren, Paul McCartney and Natasha Bedingfield.

Amidst the album's release, Tata has shocked some older Thais with her sexy image. A vocal critic has been the elderly Rabiabrat Pongpanich, a former senator and self-appointed culture watchdog well known for criticizing young female entertainers. "She's just showing off her breasts," Rabiabrat was quoted as saying by the Thai business daily, Krungthep Turakij. "People who go to her concerts don't go to listen to her music but are wasting a lot of money to see breasts, hips, a belly and a butt that can dance," Rabiabrat was quoted as saying by another Thai daily, the Daily News. The story drew nearly 300 responses on the newspaper's website, from both pro- and anti-Tata camps, according to an Associated Press article.[3] Considering the international success and acclaim Tata has garnered, Khun Rabiabrat and other critics of her generation seem sadly out of touch with the current music scene in Thailand and abroad.

Starting December 2006, Tata Young is featured singing her third single from 'Temperature Rising' "Come Rain, Come Shine" as STAR World's station identification. STAR World is a popular television channel in Asia.

In 2007, she recorded her single "Zoom" in Simlish for the top-selling PC game The Sims 2: Seasons.

Tata has recently announced that she will be promoting her album throughout Europe during April.

Halle Berry

Sexy photo gallery celebrity

Halle Maria Berry

Mini Biography
Halle Berry was born on August 14, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA to African American father Jerome Berry, a former hospital attendant, and Caucasian mother Judith Berry, a retired psychiatric nurse. Halle also has an older sister named Heidi. Halle first came into the spotlight at 17 years old when she won the Miss Teen All-American Pageant, representing the state of Ohio in 1985 and a year later in 1986 when she was the first runner-up in the Miss USA Pageant. After participating in the pageant, Halle became a model. It eventually led to her first weekly TV series, 1989's "Living Dolls" (1989), where she soon gained a reputation for her on set tenacity, preferring to "live" her roles and remaining in character even when the cameras stopped rolling. It paid off though when she reportedly refused to bathe for several days before starting work on her role as a crack addict in Spike Lee's Jungle Fever (1991) because the role provided her big screen breakthrough. The following year, she was cast as Eddie Murphy's love interest in Boomerang (1992), one of the few times that Murphy was evenly matched on screen. In 1994, Berry gained a youthful following for her performance as sexy secretary Sharon Stone in The Flintstones (1994). She next had a highly publicized costarring role with Jessica Lange in the adoption drama Losing Isaiah (1995). Though the movie received mixed reviews, Berry didn't let that slow her down, and continued down her path to superstardom. In 1998, she received critical success when she starred as a street smart young woman who takes up with a struggling politician in Warren Beatty's Bulworth (1998). The following year she won even greater acclaim for her role as actress Dorothy Dandridge in made-for-cable's Introducing Dorothy Dandridge (1999) (TV), for which she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Movie/Mini-Series. In 2000, she received box office success in X-Men (2000) in which she played Storm, a mutant who has the ability to control the weather

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Dee Lohan (born July 2, 1986) is an American actress and pop music singer. Lohan started in show business as a child fashion model for magazine advertisement and television commercials. At age 10, she began her acting career in a soap opera; at 11, she made her motion picture debut by playing identical twins in Disney's 1998 remake of The Parent Trap.

Lohan rose to stardom with her leading roles in the films Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Mean Girls and Herbie: Fully Loaded. Her subsequent roles include appearances in A Prairie Home Companion and Bobby. In 2004, Lohan launched a second career in pop music yielding the albums Speak (2004) , A Little More Personal (Raw) (2005) and is now back in the studio recording her Third Album.

Early life

Lohan was born on East 236th Street in the Woodlawn section of the Bronx and grew up in Merrick and Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island. She is the eldest child of Donata "Dina" (née Sullivan), a former Rockette, and Michael Douglas Lohan, Sr., a onetime actor. Lohan has three younger siblings, all of whom are actor-models: brother Michael Jr., whom she affectionately calls "Punk," appeared with her in The Parent Trap as the "Lost Boy at Camp"; sister Aliana had a small role in Freaky Friday, as did brother Dakota, the youngest Lohan child, whom she once saved from drowning.

Lohan is of Irish and Italian heritage and was raised as a Catholic. Her maternal family were "well known Irish Catholic stalwarts" in Merrick, with her great-grandfather, John L Sullivan, being a co-founder of the Pro-life Party in Long Island. In 2005, Lohan explained to a TEENick audience that she had decided to use Morgan as her middle name because it sounded more professional.

Lohan attended public schools on Long Island, including Sanford H. Calhoun High School. She finished her studies at home through Laurel Springs School of Ojai, California.

Her family was financially comfortable. Her mother was a Wall Street analyst before becoming Lohan's manager.[citation needed] Dina also claimed that she worked as a Rockette, though Radio City Music Hall records have not verified this claim.

Michael Lohan inherited his family's pasta business, which he later sold to trade in futures (briefly becoming President of New York Futures Traders). Sentenced to four years in prison in the late 1980s, he spent much of his daughter's preteen years in prison for securities fraud. More recently, he worked as an investment banker, securing funding for independent films. In 2005, he was sent back to prison for nearly two years, released in March 2007, for "aggravated unlicensed driving" and attempted assault. Michael currently works with Teen Challenge.

In December 2005, Michael and Dina Lohan signed a separation agreement. In August 2007, Lohan's parents announced that their divorce proceedings had been finalized.

Lohan began her career with Ford Models at age three, but found little work as a fashion model. She persisted and eventually appeared in more than 100 print ads for Toys "R" Us. She also modeled for Calvin Klein Kids (usually with siblings Michael and Ali) and Abercrombie Kids. Through young adulthood, Lohan was featured in such magazines as Vogue, Elle, Bliss (UK), Хай Клуб (High Club, Bulgaria), and Blenda (Japan).

Lohan's first auditions for television work did not go well; by the time she tried out for a Duncan Hines commercial, she told her mother that she would give up if she did not get the job.[16] She was hired, and went on to appear in over 60 commercials, including a Jell-O spot with Bill Cosby. Her ad work led to roles in soap operas, and she was already considered a show-business veteran in 1996 when she landed the role of Alexandra "Alli" Fowler on Another World, "where she delivered more dialogue than any other 10-year-old in daytime serials" of the time.

Lohan gave up Another World for the big screen when director Nancy Meyers cast her to play the dual roles of the estranged twin sisters who try to reunite their long-divorced parents (Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson) in the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap. Hired in 1997 at age 10, Lohan was 11 when filming began in England and California (in Los Angeles and the Napa Valley). "I left school for eight months," she said. "When I came back, my friends [asked], 'Where'd you go?' I said, 'My family and I went on a long vacation.' Then the movie came out, and they were, like, 'Um, Lindsay? That's you in Parent Trap,' and I said, 'Oh, yeah. I also did this movie while we were gone.' Trap was well-received for a family comedy, bringing in US$92 million worldwide. Film critic Janet Maslin found Lohan's dual performances so forceful "that she seems to have been taking shy violet lessons from Sharon Stone."Critic Kenneth Turan called Lohan "the soul of this film as much as Hayley Mills was of the original, and … she is more adept than her predecessor at creating two distinct personalities".

Signed by Disney to a three-film contract, Lohan was offered the role of Penny in Inspector Gadget but turned it down.[citation needed] Later, she starred in two original television movies, Life-Size (2000) (with Tyra Banks) and Get a Clue (2002). She also played Bette Midler's daughter in the first episode of the short-lived series, Bette (2000), but Lohan, then 14, quit when the production moved from New York to Los Angeles. In 2001, she hosted the ABC-TV commercial series commemorating Walt Disney's 100th birthday during a rebroadcast of The Parent Trap.

Following a brief hiatus, Lohan won a lead role in another Disney remake: Freaky Friday (2003), starring Jamie Lee Curtis. Through 2005, Friday was Lohan's biggest commercial film success, earning US$160 million worldwide.

Sexystar - Paris Hilton

When Paris Hilton introduced Paris Hilton Perfume in 2005, its light and fruity fragrance with hints of apple, peach, freesia, jasmine, and sandalwood made it a best-selling choice among the under thirty set for casual occasions. And having Paris Hilton’s name on it did nothing to hurt the early market for Paris Hilton Perfume, but as the novelist for the Paris Hilton groupie generation named her best-selling novel, “That was then, this is now.”

In the fall of 2006, Paris Hilton was arrested in Los Angeles for driving under the influence, and speeding. She received probation and had her license suspended, but was re-arrested in February of 2007 for speeding, driving without headlights, and violating her probation for diving while her license was still suspended. She was sentenced to 45 days in the Los Angeles Country Jail, and was released on June 25 after having 22 days cut from her sentence for good behavior.

Is A Celebrity Name Enough?

Paris Hilton Perfume is just another in a long line of celebrity endorsed personal care products, designed to appeal to those who identify themselves wit the rich and famous when they have very little chance of becoming either. Paris Hilton is beautiful, young, and rich, and for those who hold beauty, wealth, and youth as ideals, wearing Paris Hilton Perfume was once an extremely tenuous connection to her.

But now Paris Hilton is beautiful, wealthy, young, and the owner of a jail record. Paris Hilton Perfume still smells as light, clean, and fruity as it ever did, but will it still be the perfume of choice for the sixteen-to-twenty-one set?

During June of 2007, Endeavor Agency, which had helped Paris Hilton obtain celebrity status by getting her film roles and endorsements, dropped her as a client because she was too much work. The agency said that it was their original intention to make Paris Hilton “the Martha Stewart of her generation.” While the agency may have failed to accomplish that, Paris Hilton’s own behavior did, jail term and all.

Will Paris Hilton Perfume sales suffer in the aftermath of her personal difficulties? It remains a very appealing scent, reasonably priced when compared to the offerings of other female celebrities like Liz Taylor, Beyonce Knowles, and Sarah Jessica Parker, and that may be enough to see it through. The public fascination with all things, after all, Paris shows no signs of flagging.
